A Letter to Our Iceland Family:
To all our Skaters and Customers who make Iceland Ice Skating Center their loyal home, we would like to thank you for your continued support our rink. More than ever before, this period of lockdown made it clear that you are the ones who bring our facility to life. As the stay at home orders begin to lift, our management would like to take a moment to discuss how we see the foreseeable future at Iceland Ice Skating Center.
We are happy to announce that we will be opening up our rink for certain Figure Skating and Hockey programs. While we would love to open our Skating School, Public Skating, and Birthday Parties, California and Los Angeles County health guidelines still advise against it. We will continue to keep you all updated on the various steps of our full reopening.
As you may be aware, all businesses reopening during the current pandemic must do so while complying with certain governmental restrictions. These restrictions have been mandated to provide the safest and cleanest environment for our customers and staff.

Protocol and Safety
Please read the following to understand and follow our new guidelines that we will be implementing at Iceland.
- Hand Sanitizing stations will be available throughout the rink.
- Regular disinfecting and cleaning of all high traffic high touch areas will be done multiple times throughout the day.
- Locker rooms will not be open.
- Please wear a mask at all times when inside our facility. Skaters will be required to wear a mask as well.
- All employees will wear face masks for the safety of our customers and employees.
- We ask that you practice social distancing when in our facility – stay 6 feet apart.
- Please minimize the number of people congregating in the facility by having parents drop off and pick up skaters. Drop offs will be in the front of our building, pick-ups will be in the back exit of our building along Bessemer St.
- We kindly ask for your support in helping by limiting you time and the number of people in the building. We ask that skaters come dressed and prepared to hop on the ice at their designated time.
- We ask that you please leave immediately following the completion of your ice time.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and/or use an alcohol based sanitizer.
- Always avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Clean and disinfect your hockey and skating equipment.
- Please do not come to the rink if you feel sick or have any symptoms. It will be the responsibility of every coach, skater, hockey player, spectator, and employee to do their part to ensure Iceland Ice Skating Center remains a clean and safe environment.

Temporary Policies and Procedures
At Iceland Ice Skating Center, the health and well-being of our customers and employees is of the utmost importance to us. In order to maintain a safe and healthy recreational facility we will be following the recommended guidelines of the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as the Los Angeles Country Public Health Department.
All Skaters, Players, Parents, Coaches and other entrants are required to follow the required rules, regulations, and guidelines. If you are unable to abide by any of these guidelines, please do not visit our facility. Our new policies and procedures will be enforced at all times. Any entrants who do not follow our new policies will be asked to leave the facility.
Waiver of Liability could be signed online or printed at home and signed before entering our facility each and every time you visit. If you’re accompanying a minor child, a separate form will be needed for each entrant. Visit the website to download, print, sign, and bring to rink.
- All entrants must stay in designated personal distancing areas while inside, or wait outside the building.
- Masks are required by every entrant in the rink, masks are required on ice as well.
- Skaters and players should arrive dressed and must wait outside in their vehicles until 5 minutes before their schedule session. Do not be late.
- Skaters and players will have 5 minutes vacate the facility following the end of their session.
- Cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting procedures are now in place. Staff will be disinfecting high touch areas between each session. All employees are being trained and will be wearing appropriate personal protective equipment during their shifts.
- Currently, we are allowed to offer limited programs that allow for continuous social distancing.

Programs, activities, and facilities that are we are not offering for the time being include but are not limited to the following.

- Vending Machines and Water Fountains.
- Iceland Café will be closed until further notice, please bring your own water bottles.
The rink is not open to ‘walk-ins’. There are no public sessions. The number of people on the ice is restricted, so we welcome reservations on a first reserved, first serve basis.
- Check our online schedule, select time, and process payment.
- Call (818)785-2171 during business hours to reserve your spot.
- You must speak with a receptionist who will enter your name and confirm.
- Reservations will not be accepted in the form of a message or email.
- Present Waiver of Liability upon entrance.
- No-shows may be refused a later reservation.
- Skate School/Freestyle punch cards are not valid at this time.

ATTENTION: Due to Covid-19 state and local guidelines, our Public Skating Sessions will remain closed for the time being. We will have “Reservation Only” Freestyle Sessions available to reserve and purchase through our website Freestyle Calendar. We will be limiting our sessions to 15 participants per hour session (first reserve, first serve basis). Walk-in Skaters will not be allowed into the rink, all sessions must be reserved ahead of time! Sessions are $20.00 per skater per hour. Pre-paid Freestyle cards are not being accepted at this time. All entrants must print and sign a waiver in advance to enter the rink. If a parent/family member accompanies a skater, they must both have a signed waiver to present to rink employees. No exceptions! You must sign a waiver in advance and present them at arrival/check in.
- Guest coaches must contact the Skating Director or a rink manager for approval prior to teaching at Iceland Ice Skating Center.
- Guest coaches may teach during Freestyle Camp sessions that are under maximum limit (max 15 students on ice), if permission was granted in advance. Please call (818)785-2171
- Proof of Insurance must be supplied and all fees must be paid before going on ice.
- Guest coach must sign a waiver before entering the rink.

Skating Classes for Children and Adults
Skating classes include skate rentals and lessons once twice or three times per week. Certain packages come with free admission to general skating. Lessons are fun and exciting.
